GST and filing
Get your GSTR-1 ready
Go to Reports → GSTR-1, choose the period and export it. It is built from the invoices and credit notes you have already finalized, so there is nothing to re-enter; check its totals against your sales register first. Today you or your CA upload the file to the GST portal, because filing straight from here is switched off in production.
It is built from your invoices
There is no separate GST data-entry step. Every finalized invoice and credit note in the period is already in the right place, so producing GSTR-1 is a matter of choosing the month and exporting it.
Go to Reports → GSTR-1, pick the period, and export.
Check the totals first
Before you export, the screen lists what the file will contain: Sections in this file and Documents issued, each with its totals. Compare them with Reports → Sales register for the same period. A difference is worth understanding before you export.
Spend the minute on this. A mismatch found here is a five-minute fix; the same mismatch found after filing is a correction in next month's return.
Filing it
Today you or your CA upload the exported file to the GST portal. Gallafy produces the return; it does not file it for you.
Filing straight from Gallafy through a licensed GST Suvidha Provider is built and running against the test system. It stays switched off in production until we have filed enough returns ourselves to trust it with yours.
